Incentive: Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) Payments for Solar System Owners
Incentive: Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) Payments for Solar System Owners The Illinois Power Agency’s (IPA) is offering a generous Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) program where state agencies are able to “purchase” the benefit of your solar energy production to add to their renewable energy goals. The number of SRECs you could earn is based on your solar system’s installed capacity and predicted production.
The SREC program uses a “block” structure to determine how much cash you will get for installing a home solar system. As of February 2021, the IPA program blocks are filled. Please see the Illinois Power Agency ABP website for information regarding the reopening of blocks and complete program details.
